Michael- our beautiful boy. He was with us such a short time and it has now been twelve years since he passed away, and still we miss him.The sharp edges that cut and sting have been erased by time,but the pain of loosing our little baby still remains. I have often wondered what he would look like now as he looked so much like his Mummy when he was born. His Mummy was very young when little Michael was born but she was at home with me and together we looked after this precious little bundle that we had not been expecting but loved so very much. We did not expect his death either, so quickly so quietly, just gone. The hours we spent with him saying goodbye also went so quickly, so very quickly. Coming home and seeing the empty crib,his feeding bottles his dummy........ Seeing your daughter hurting and unable to do anything about it and hurting so much yourself at the same time was almost unbearable. Living in a fog where normality did not exist for weeks afterwards. Michael, my darling little boy for that is what you feel like to me - my first grandchild. I did not expect to feel such overwheming love, but I do and my arms ache to hold you just one more time - one day sweetheart.
